Hello all,

Hope all kids are ready for JIT starting next week!  RisingStars is hosting the Open Session at CanAm on 4/12 to (1) thank all families who have donated to the NorCal JIT fund; (2) provide all kids to get familiar with the courts at CanAm (including newly replaced lighting and nets/net posts); and (3) continue fundraising as we work toward raising $20K goal (96.5% as of 4/9/25)!

CanAm confirmed that we can use up to 15 courts on Sat 6-10 pm.  Here is the link to the event:   RisingStars - CanAm JIT Open Session #13 | Tournamentsoftware.com; All draws have been published.  Please note (1) please bring your own shuttle to each match; (2) In order to allocate enough play time for all players, all match is 1-set to 21 points; (3) count your own scores, and report to tournament desk as soon as the match is over; (4) medals will be awarded to winners of U9 and U11 players only; (5) all players in the draws - please stay close to the tournament area.  

Since we are expecting 120+ (or more) players but only have 15 courts, we will need to make the following arrangements.  Please follow as much as possible and respect everyone's play time.

1. For all players who signed up BS or GS, please arrive by 6 pm; All other doubles will start around 7 pm, or when all players are here.  We plan to use 5 of the courts.

2. For players signup for Open Sparring (singles or doubles), no match will be arranged.  There will be 10 courts for open sparring from 6 to 11 pm.

a. Please respect players of all ages.  Do not hog the courts!  

b. If there are players waiting, play 1-game and winner stays.  Winners who won 3 in a row should rotate off the court.

c. 6 - 7:30 pm: priority for U13/U15 players

d. 7:30 - 9:00 pm: priority for U17/U19 players

Payment: Free for those families who have donated to NorCal JIT fund.  For all others, it will be $20 per person.  Please use one of the following methods:

** Good news for those who cannot make it on 4/12 - CanAm just agreed to open 4/13 9 am - 12 pm for drop-in.  Those who donated but did not attend on 4/12 can play for free on 4/13 session (please show your donation receipt.  I will provide the updated list to CanAm at the end of 4/12 session).  All others can pay regular drop-in to play at CanAm.
